What is our message as we wait for the arrival of Jesus?

John the Baptist, the cousin of Jesus, was the prophet appointed by God to announce the arrival of the Kingdom of Heaven. When Jesus arrived as a child, His Kingdom was about to break into Earth and establish itself as a beacon of light in the darkness. As we wait for the arrival of Jesus in dark days, what is our message of hope?
